State Senators advance legislation to crack down on illegal online gambling, which they say is taking revenue from the state.

In a sweeping vote on Monday, Senate Bill 1589 is now one step closer to being signed into law.

“These illegal offshore entities and foreign operators cost the state of Oklahoma millions of dollars in lost revenue,” said Senator Todd Gollihare (R-Kellyville).

The bill mainly focuses on the gaming platforms and operators and will make anyone who violates the measure subject to being charged with a class two felony, which carries the possibility of imprisonment or thousands of dollars in fines.
