Ohio’s casinos and racinos had $196 million in gambling revenue in May, about a 3% drop compared to this month last year.

The same 11 casinos and racinos brought in a combined $202 million in May 2022. The record for the month was set in 2021, at $209 million, according to data from the Ohio Casino Control and Lottery commissions. This is the money kept by the gambling houses, after paying out winnings, but before state taxes and fees.

Ohio’s gambling totals are still ahead year-over-year. So far in 2023, the casinos and racinos have had $1 billion in gambling revenue, up from $984 million through five months last year. These figures exclude newly legalized sports betting.
