Major League Baseball is working with gambling companies to ban “micro prop” betting from the sport, Gov. Mike DeWine said in an Oct. 28 interview with The Dispatch.
The MLB commissioner’s office told DeWine on Oct. 28 that they “thought they had an agreement” with all of the sports gaming companies, except for one, to ban the bets, he said. Micro prop bets are wagers on highly specific actions that occur during a sporting event, often controlled by just one player. This could include how many strikeouts a pitcher gets or how many innings they last.
“These micro prop bets are just very dangerous…” DeWine said.
