Ohio’s sports-betting companies took in $521.7 million worth of bets in April, a sharp decline compared to the huge start the state had in January.
The total was down from the $738.6 million bet in March, which was a bounce-back month for sports betting. Ohio saw $639.8 million bet in February and $1.1 billion bet in January.
Every type of betting — mobile-betting apps, casino-style betting lounges known as sportsbooks and Lottery betting kiosks — saw fewer bets.
The Ohio Casino Control Commission released its April revenue numbers Wednesday afternoon. Separately, the Ohio Lottery Commission released its report covering gaming kiosks in mid-May.
The state’s 17 mobile-betting apps took in $505.6 million in bets, down from $715.3 million in March.
