Casino Nova Scotia’s Halifax location will be moving to Dartmouth crossing with the current waterfront casino to be sold, the Nova Scotia government announced in a release Wednesday.

The province has signed an agreement with operator Great Canadian Entertainment to build the new Dartmouth casino. The company will own, operate and maintain the facility.

“We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Great Canadian Entertainment for a new, modern casino in Dartmouth. Great Canadian has the expertise and track record we need to ensure the continued success of casino operations in our province,” said Timothy Halman, acting finance and treasury board minister in the release.

“This move also creates an opportunity for new development in downtown Halifax.”
