The Indiana House of Representatives met Thursday to discuss 34 different bills vying to become official legislation, a majority of which received their second hearing on the House floor.
One such bill — House Bill 1038 — involves potentially moving a casino license from Ohio County in southern Indiana to one of four counties in the state, and three of them reside in northeast Indiana. The bill passed its second hearing as “ordered engrossed” Thursday meaning the bill will prepare for a third floor hearing in the House.
Prior to Thursday, the bill received a few changes after having its initial floor reading and making its way through two House committees.
