Enrolled Lumbee tribal citizens can now submit written comments on a proposed gaming ordinance as the Lumbee Tribal Council continues a series of public hearings on the draft measure.

The Tribal Council announced Monday that the written comment option is active through 8 a.m. Sept. 29. Tribal citizens can submit comments of up to 4,000 characters through the Lumbee Member Portal under the “Gaming Ordinance” tab.

The council said the written comment process provides another way for enrolled tribal citizens to give feedback on the draft ordinance in addition to attending public hearings.

The draft gaming ordinance and hearing and comment protocol were posted to the member portal Sept. 8.
