A news story published Wednesday morning in The Charlotte Observer and other McClatchy newsrooms in the Carolinas incorrectly reported that the Catawba Indian Nation is planning to build a horse racing track alongside its planned casino in Kings Mountain, N.C.
The incorrect information for the story was based on a social media post in a group of tribal members.
Tamron Little, director of communications for the Catawba Nation, said the tribe has no plans to build a horse racing track.
