Non-gaming spend of Macau visitors fell 26% to US$2.25 billion in 2022

Macau’s total visitor spending in 2022 was MOP$18.17 billion (US$2.25 billion), 25.7% lower than in 2021.

According to the Macau Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), excluding gaming revenue, this included total visitor spending in the December quarter of MOP$4.83 billion (US$597 million), down 23.5% year-on-year due to a decrease in arrivals. Spending by overnight visitors in Q4 was MOP$4.12 billion (US$509 million) and spending by same-day visitors was MOP$710 million (US$88), down by 19.6% and 40.3% respectively.

Per capita spending did increase in the quarter however, rising 11.7% year-on-year to MOP$3,614 (US$447).
