Sullivan County is making a $585 million play to purchase the non-gaming assets of Resorts World Catskills, which opened in 2018 but has seen declining revenue the last few years.
The county’s Industrial Development Agency and the recently formed Sullivan County Resort Facilities Local Development Corporation announced the latter would borrow $585 million in bonds to acquire the non-casino assets of the resort.
The acquisition includes the resort’s hotel, golf course and the 1,700-acre Adelaar site where Resorts World Catskills is located in the town of Thompson. Resorts World will enter into a multi-decade management agreement to continue to operate the non-gaming assets of the property.
