Online sports betting sites in the Empire State had a solid start to their 2023.

Numbers reported Friday by the New York State Gaming Commission show that $410.8 million in bets was handled by online sportsbooks during the week ended January 1, up from $352.6 million the week before and the highest weekly handle since late November.

Gross gaming revenue earned by the nine online sports betting sites in New York last week was $23.9 million, down from $37.8 million the week prior and good for a hold of 5.8%. The win rate for the week ended December 25 had been 10.7%.

There have now been eight weeks in which New Yorkers wagered more than $400 million with the state’s mobile bookmakers.
