On Thursday, the New York State Gaming Commission reported mobile sports betting revenue of $56.9 million for the week ending Dec. 10, as the house bounced back with a vengeance from a sub-5% hold two weeks ago.
The revenue total is the third-largest in the 101 weeks mobile wagering apps have been available in the Empire State, slotting behind the record $62 million set Oct. 15 and the $57.5 million claimed Jan. 22. The nine digital apps combined for a hold of 13.9%, good for fourth all-time while reaching double digits for the 35th time overall.
New York’s sportsbooks were likely helped out by a few surprises in Week 14 of the NFL season, which began with two-win New England upsetting Pittsburgh on the road last Thursday.
