Jake’s 58 Casino in Islandia was back open Thursday after “a malfunction with the casino’s surveillance system” forced the facility to close for 10 hours on Wednesday, according to Suffolk County OTB CEO Phil Boyle.
“According to New York State’s very strict gaming regulations, casinos cannot operate unless there is adequate surveillance in all areas of the facility,” Boyle said. “Our dedicated IT team worked for most of the day to resolve the surveillance problem and Jake’s reopened last night. We thank all of our loyal patrons for their understanding and patience. We are open for business!”
Suffolk County police were at the casino for most of the day Wednesday.
