Aatlantic City will remain under state supervision for the upcoming year.

The state Local Finance Board approved the continued oversight during a meeting Wednesday morning in Trenton. The motion was listed as the first thing on the agenda but had to be pushed back because no one from Atlantic City was signed on to the meeting. When the hearing on the city started, it lasted a little more than five minutes.

Anthony Swan, city business administrator, said the city and state have a fantastic relationship.

“We have made it clear that there will be no surprises on anything that we are doing,” Swan said. “They know everything that we do before we do it.”
