Lawrence-based Lupoli Cos. is the developer, while the project team also includes the Cambridge architectural firm PCA, Lawrence-based engineering firm TEC and Boston-based landscape architect Halvorson.

The project received approval from Hampton’s Planning Board on Nov. 5. The new casino and ballroom will include a 52,000-square-foot casino, a 208-room hotel, 99 condominiums and a venue space with a capacity for 3,500 people, and amenities that include rooftop pools. The project has been reported to cost $400 million to $600 million.

The head of Lupoli Cos., Sal Lupoli, is the majority owner of the site. The venue once hosted big-name performers in the 1960s, including Led Zeppelin, Janice Joplin, The Doors and Simon & Garfunkel.
