Cutting the number of dates that nonprofits can benefit from gambling at charity casinos every year would allow an additional 430 groups to get their own income opportunities, according to the sponsor of a Senate proposal.

Senate Ways and Means Committee Chairman Tim Lang, R-Sanbornton, said his bill (SB 542) to reduce from 10 to seven the maximum number of dates a charity can be the beneficiary annually should not reduce their profit over time due to the growth in gambling revenue.
