The Southern Nevada Health District released a statement on Tuesday, April 28, that it “is investigating two travel-associated cases of Legionnaires’ disease associated with stays at the Wynn Las Vegas.” One of the cases is associated with a person who stayed at the resort in September 2025, the other in February 2026. Both people have recovered.
The cases of Legionnaires’ disease, a type of pneumonia caused by the Legionella bacteria, which can live in mist and water systems, prompted the SNHD to conduct environmental samplings at the Wynn, confirming its systems were infected with the bacteria. The Wynn has since “initiated immediate and comprehensive water system remediation measures, and the most recent samples indicate no detectable levels of Legionella in the affected areas.”
