With an updated statewide study still in its corner, Ogallala could win approval of Nebraska’s first horse-racing track and casino west of Grand Island on Friday.
The Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission’s next agenda includes a vote on confirming its conditional December approval to shift Hastings quarter horse breeder Brian Becker’s racetrack license to Ogallala from Hastings’ Adams County Fairgrounds.
Its Ogallala agenda item follows release of an expanded market analysis by The Innovation Group, which found Becker’s plan the most favorable to Nebraska’s existing racetracks in its initial report in December.
