The Grand Island Casino Resort is marking its first year in operation with nearly $250 million in economic impact, according to officials.
The $185 million resort, developed by Elite Casino Resorts, opened its permanent facility at Fonner Park in 2025. Leaders say the project has quickly become one of the largest economic drivers in central Nebraska.
In its first year, the casino resort generated more than $245 million in direct economic impact and now employs about 430 people. Officials say those jobs account for roughly $16.4 million in annual wages and benefits. Since operations began in December 2022, total wages and benefits paid have reached nearly $32 million.
