The prohibited wagers were first revealed at a Gaming Commission last week, and regulators said Thursday they plan to hold a judicial-like hearing in mid- to late March to determine potential penalties. It comes as Encore Boston Harbor and Plainridge Park Casino are also grappling with the fallout of illegal college bets.

MGC Senior Enforcement Counsel Kathleen Kramer said patrons were able to wager on a Feb. 3 Harvard-Yale men’s basketball game for a total of 21 hours over two days and on a Feb. 4 Harvard-Brown men’s basketball game for a total of 20 hours over two days.
