Another day, another state looks to ban sweepstakes casinos. Lawmakers in Minnesota introduced a new bill in March that aims to ban dual-currency sweepstakes casinos. The measure was introduced in the Office of the Revisor of Statutes.
The measure is Senate File 4474 and was introduced by five senators: Jordan Rasmusson, John Marty, Erin Maye Quade, Matt Klein and Warren Limmer. The filing describes SF 4474 as “a bill or an act relating to commerce; prohibiting online sweepstakes games; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes.”
SF 4474 aims to add a section to Minnesota’s commerce law that would ban sweepstakes casinos from operating in the North Star State.
