When it comes to sports betting in Michigan, March Madness is good for business.
Three commercial casinos in Michigan increased their total sports betting revenue by more than 12% in March, month on month, thanks to increased betting because of the NCAA men’s and women’s basketball tournaments.
Casinos paid $9.5 million in state gambling tax and $14.0 million in taxes to Detroit.
In total, Michigan commercial sportsbooks generated $117,796,410.33 in March. That figure represents a 12.2% increase over February when total commercial sportsbook revenue hit just over $105 million.
