The Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, owners of FireKeepers Casino Hotel, will contribute nearly $6.2 million this year in local revenue sharing to support schools and municipalities in Calhoun County.

The contribution is the result of a strong performance in 2022, a year that saw the casino grapple with skyrocketing inflation and an increasingly tight labor market while continuing to weather the consequences of COVID-19.

More than 1,800 employees of the casino rose to the occasion, FireKeepers CEO Frank Tecumseh said Wednesday.

“These challenges forced leadership and staff to do more with less, but once again, we rose to the challenge,” Tecumseh said. “Today is a tribute to the dedication and the focus on guest service from the FireKeepers Casino Hotel team.”
