One of the reactions to the successful launch of the Massachusetts sports betting market has been a backlash against the flood of commercials for sports betting apps, and how that may impact an increase in gambling addiction.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has already addressed such concerns during open meetings. For instance, it is restricting ads from appearing on platforms frequented by people under the legal betting age.

Some are also calling on sports betting operators to lead the way in providing new research into gambling addiction.

When consumers create an account with a sportsbook, their activity creates a profile. Those data points pile up, and sportsbooks use them to analyze betting trends and improve their products.
