Raynham Park has been a staple in the Bristol County community for decades, but when the state banned live greyhound racing, it had to shift its business model to simulcasts.
The owner says he’s ready to do it again now that the state has passed sports betting.
“I think it’s going to be a big winner because the younger people are very interested in it,” Raynham Park owner George Carney told NBC 10 News.
Massachusetts lawmakers approved a sports betting bill in August that brought the state up to speed with the rest of the region. While the gaming commission is still working on a framework for the industry, it is hoping to finalize the details by January.
