Oddfellahs, the only in-person sportsbook in Maine, has been forced to shut down its sports betting operations after the state revoked its temporary gaming license. It’s a decision that comes at a crucial time for the business.
When the restaurant and bar opened in September, General Manager David Moran said the response exceeded expectations, with customers eager to place wagers and enjoy the venue’s offerings.
“We thrive with the gaming and the food and beverage side of it,” Moran said. “They go hand in hand, and one needs to feed the other.”
But now, the betting monitors at Oddfellahs have gone dark, and so have many of the booths.
