Macau visitor arrivals up 19% month-on-month to 2.76 million in October

Macau’s visitor arrivals increased by 380% year-on-year and by 19% sequentially to 2,757,308 in October, according to figures from the Statistics and Census Service.

Among those, 1,949,510 were from mainland China, up 280% year-on-year, while arrivals from the nine cities of the Pearl River Delta in the Greater Bay Area increased by 200% to 951,079. Visitor arrivals from Hong Kong increased by 1,100% year-on-year to 592,325, while visitor arrivals from Taiwan increased by 600% to 53,667.

As for foreign arrivals, the Philippines accounted for the largest number of arrivals with 29,864, followed by Korea with 25,647.

There were 1,451,703 same-day visitors and 1,305,605 overnight visitors in October, representing year-on-year increases of 440% and 320% respectively. The average length of stay of visitors was 1.2 days, a year-on-year decrease of 0.6 days. The average length of stay of overnight visitors (2.3 days) decreased by 0.9 days, while the average length of stay of same-day visitors (0.3 days) increased by 0.1 days.
