Macau government tax take hits $3.7 billion through April

The Macau SAR government’s revenue from gaming tax amounted to a combined MOP$29.9 billion (US$3.7 billion) for the first four months of 2024, an increase of 98.2% compared with the same period last year, according to information from the Financial Services Bureau (DSF).

This included MOP$7.94 billion (US$986 million) in April, up from MOP$7.13 billion (US$883 million) in March.

The April figure reflects Macau’s gross gaming revenue from the month of March, with the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau having previously reported March GGR of MOP$19.50 billion (US$2.42 billion).

The Macau SAR government has estimated that gaming tax revenue for FY24 will be around MOP$83.6 billion (US$10.4 billion), while the budget execution rate from January to April currently stands at 35.7%.
