More than 130 organizations across Central Washington are receiving a share of more than $1 million in community funding from Legends Casino Hotel and the Yakama Nation.
The funding is distributed through the Yakama Cares program and the Community Impact Fund, supporting a wide range of needs, including youth services and public safety agencies.
“Well, every year it’s a wonderful feeling to give back to the community. We’ve been here for 28 years now and every year this highlights everything that we do throughout the year,” said Deirdre Fojuwaye, assistant marketing director at Legends Casino Hotel.
This year, 246 organizations applied for funding, with 108 nonprofits eventually selected.
