Roanoke’s casino is still in the early proposal stages, however other locations are farther along. Those were on the agenda Monday for a Virginia subcommittee on the future of gaming.
Roanoke’s Casino proposal was not included in Monday’s discussion. Representatives from the five casinos in Virginia discussed the progress made to their communities.
Lawmakers are considering establishing a Virginia Gaming Commission and wanted to hear from the casinos who have established roots in the commonwealth. Two of those five are in our hometowns: Hard Rock in Bristol and Caesars in Danville.
They addressed the committee to discuss their revenue and benefits they’ve brought to the community.
