The UK’s Safer Gambling Week has kicked off, running from 17 to 23 October, and aims to increase awareness of problem gambling across the nation.
Last year, the campaign led to a 17% increase in the use of safer gambling tools and deposit limits following the week, compared to the previous four-week average, according to the Betting & Gaming Council (BGC).
Damian Collins MP, DCMS Parliamentary Under-Secretary, said at the start of the 2022 campaign: “We support the industry coming together to champion safer gambling and highlight the resources available to help reduce harmful gambling.
“We are working quickly to finalise details of a gambling white paper to make sure the rules governing the industry are fit for the digital age.”
