Two casino executives that are the sons of a pair of legacy Southern Nevada gaming leaders on Wednesday were recommended for licensing by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Christopher Ruffin, son of Treasure Island and Circus Circus owner Phil Ruffin, and Sean Lanni, son of the late chairman and CEO of MGM Mirage Terry Lanni, predecessor to MGM Resorts International, were unanimously found suitable for licensing by the Control Board.
The Nevada Gaming Commission is expected to consider final approval at its Oct. 22 meeting.
While sharing a similar path toward securing licensing as key executives, the two applicants are on very different trajectories.
