Las Vegas Police call Red Rock casino stabbings ‘unprovoked,’ believe alleged attacker was selling drugs

Detectives describe the stabbings of two Red Rock Resort employees Saturday as “unprovoked” and believe the man accused was selling drugs in a bathroom beforehand, according to documents the 8 News Now Investigators obtained.

The stabbings and then shooting of the suspect, Shayne Sussman, 25, happened around 1 a.m. inside the casino on Charleston Boulevard near the 215 Beltway. The 8 News Now Investigators first identified Sussman on Saturday.

Sussman is accused of stabbing one employee in the face and neck and another employee in the back, documents said.

According to documents, the stabbings occurred near a hotel elevator bank at 12:59 a.m. One employee was polishing a floor area and had opened a door to continue his work when Sussman allegedly attacked him, documents said.
