The historic Southwest heat wave has broken another Las Vegas weather record and was on track to produce almost as many 90-degree March days this month in Southern Nevada as in the past almost nine decades.
The most 90-degree March days Las Vegas had seen in a single year was three, which happened in 2004. On Saturday, Las Vegas surpassed that mark with a high of 96 degrees at Harry Reid International Airport, breaking the March 21 daily record of 92. It was the fourth consecutive day the valley saw record-breaking temperatures that also exceeded 90 degrees.
And the heat is here to stay, at least for another week.
