Crews began installing the second steel roof truss at the Athletics’ Las Vegas ballpark Tuesday morning, marking another milestone for the $2 billion structure.
The first of the two pieces of roof truss was installed at around 6:30 a.m. and attached to a buttress, or support structure, on the stadium’s east side.
Crews began lifting the second truss at around 9 a.m. , a process that was a bit more complicated, as the truss needed to be connected to the first truss piece on the buttress, while the other side had to be attached to a massive temporary steel shoring tower built inside the facility on the site of the future playing field.
