Kindred Group Plc has announced that its climate reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), a non-profit initiative created to drive climate action in the private sector.
The Stockholm-listed gambling group has updated its greenhouse gas reduction targets, which were originally outlined in 2020.
New targets, developed in cooperation with SBTi, sees Kindred committed to reduce the absolute scope 1-and-2 greenhouse gas emissions recorded during the base year of 2019 by 90% in the fiscal year 2027.
The firm’s corporate governance has further pledged to reduce absolute scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions 35% within the same timeframe allocated. SBTi’s validation was marked as an important CSR step for Kindred.
