Phil Collins’ illustrious music career grew to include a seventh No. 1 single in 1989 with “Just Another Day in Paradise.” In almost a tribute to the song’s title, July was just another month for Kansas casinos in terms of their gaming revenue.
July was the slowest month to date for sports betting in Kansas but true to Collins’ lyrics, there’s reason to think twice about that. For the state, it was actually more of a typical month.
The Kansas Lottery’s four casino properties mostly walked on in July with three of the four having good reason to avoid looking back. Of the four, Hollywood Casino was the only one not to see a significant year-over-year decline in their revenue from poker, slots and table games for the month.
