Sports betting reached a record handle for Kansas in September, according to numbers released by the Kansas Lottery.
The total sports betting handle was almost $219.3 million, up 132 percent from the August figure of over $94.4 million. That topped the previous record handle of almost $206.3 million set in March.
The mobile sports betting handle for September was almost $201.1 million, which was also a record.
BetKansas.com analysts said it was a strong start to the second year of sports betting in Kansas. They said revenue was also up significantly this month, with sportsbooks grossing nearly $4.5 million. This is a 66.4% increase from August. The gains can be attributed in large part to a rapidly filling sports calendar.
