According to the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission (IRGC) latest report, Iowa casinos generated nearly $156.04 million in adjusted gross revenue. That revenue comes from poker, slot machines and table games. It also includes physical sportsbooks inside Iowa casinos. As usual, slot machines were the biggest revenue generators for all the casinos in the state.
Throughout December, Iowa generated over $30 million in state taxes.
As mentioned, Iowa’s 19 brick-and-mortar casinos won $156.04 million from players in December. Iowa’s December gaming revenue is a 9.52% year-over-year increase from the $142.48 million generated in December 2022. The figure also represents a 14.43% month-over-month growth.
Iowa casinos collected most of the money from slot machines.
