The Iowa State Racing and Gaming Commission is fining the popular gambling company FanDuel $125,000 for violations in the state.
According to Radio Iowa, FanDuel spokesman Ben Roth represented the company before the commission on June 11 to discuss the violations, which included allowing illegal bets in Iowa on the Super Bowl, golf matches and soccer matches.
The company, founded in 2009, also was fined $30,000 for not having working options for responsible gambling, according to Radio Iowa.
“We take responsibility for the matters represented in the settlement before the Commission today and understand that we did not meet the high standard that we hold for ourselves,” Roth said in the meeting.
