On Thursday in Cedar Rapids, leaders from over a half-dozen non-profit organizations in the Linn County area came together to lend their support to the Cedar Rapids casino project, which has pledged to donate 8% of proceeds to non-profits in the area.

As the Linn County Gaming Association continues work in an effort to make the Cedar Crossing casino and entertainment center a reality, they brought attention to their commitment to give 8% of net adjusted revenue to local non-profits.

Kristin Roberts with the United Way of East Central Iowa spoke on the proceeds saying, “That is the highest commitment in the state of any gaming operation. It would translate to 6.3 million dollars annually.”
