State Representatives who represent Linn County are throwing their support behind a gaming license for Cedar Rapids.
Back in July, the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission approved a timeline for Linn County’s application for a gaming license.
This marks the third attempt to bring a casino to Cedar Rapids. The two-year moratorium on gaming licenses in the state expired in June.
In a letter to the members of the Racing and Gaming Commission, the ten state lawmakers say a casino will, “generate tremendous economic and social benefits…for Cedar Rapids….Eastern Iowa Corridor and the State of Iowa.”
