$2.25 billion in economic impact over 10 years. That’s the result of study released Monday on the impact of the proposed Cedar Crossing Casino and Entertainment Center in Cedar Rapids.
Monday, Decision Innovation Solutions (DIS), released a report about the profitability and economic impact of the casino.
The study, which was paid for by Peninsula Pacific Entertainment (P2E), says the new proposed casino would bring in $2.25 billion dollars in the first decade to Cedar Rapids and the surrounding area.
The study projects an economic impact of $257 million during the construction phase and $183 million in the first year of operations. The study says during the 18-month construction phase of the project, the casino would support 792 jobs.
