The Indiana Gaming Commission has approved the temporary plan for Vigo County’s casino money.
Churchill Downs has to pay the county a portion of its gross revenue each month. The county commissioners recently voted to create an escrow account to hold that money until a foundation is created. The foundation will oversee the money and how it’s used.
Thursday, the Gaming Commission signed off on establishing the escrow account.
The chairman said the sooner the foundation is created, the sooner people can benefit from the money intended for their community.
