The Terre Haute Casino Resort Foundation on Monday publicly outlined its financial commitment — in the area of $95 million — to a new Vigo County schools plan.

Of note: That commitment is for a plan that includes a consolidated high school east of the Wabash River.

Also of note: It comes with a deadline. The offer is contingent upon Vigo County making its own significant financial contribution to the same project. The Vigo County Council would have to vote on the county’s contribution by Dec. 31 of this year.

“We are providing this information as the Oversight Board continues its review of the plans before it and prepares its own recommendation to the Vigo County Council,” the foundation board said in a letter to the Oversight Board.
