Lawmakers in Hawaii are examining a loophole in gambling laws, as commercials for online gambling are set to air during this weekend’s big game.
A proposed house bill aims to classify prediction markets as gambling, which remains illegal in Hawaii. During the game on Sunday, there will probably be a couple of commercials about online gambling.
At a hearing on Thursday, Feb. 5, at the State Capitol, there were at least a few testifiers that said “Call it what you want, it’s still gambling… And millions of dollars are being lost on this bet!”
