Hawaii lawmakers have introduced several bills to the Senate and House to legalize igaming in the state.

SB 1572 would establish the Hawaii State Sports Wagering Commission, which would regulate the online betting industry within the state. The bill proposes legalizing online and at retail locations, with licensees needing to pay a 15% tax rate.

Two other sports betting bills currently being debated by Hawaii lawmakers are HB 1308 and SB 1569. The main difference with these proposals is that retail betting is not mentioned. In addition, the suggested tax rate on sportsbooks is just 10%.

SB 1507 is the latest online gambling bill to be introduced to the Hawaii Senate.
