The House Study Committee met in Savannah to discuss the idea of legalized gaming in the state of Georgia.

Georgia is one of the few states that have not legalized sports betting or gambling. The House Study Committee held public meetings to show the positives and negatives of bring gamin to the state.

“Georgians are currently traveling to other states because of the lack of opportunities on sports betting,” Professor of Economics Brad R. Humpherys said.

CEOs, state leaders and professors have spoken out at these meetings with data from states that allow gambling. Former Kentucky state leaders spoke specifically about horse betting. They believe it will not only bring money into the state but tourism as well.
