Evolution made money in markets where its online casino games were banned owing to “compliance deficiencies”, according to a company-commissioned report that the Swedish gambling group fought to keep secret.
The report has been disclosed as part of an ongoing legal spat between Evolution and Black Cube, the notorious intelligence firm that produced a damaging dossier in 2021 regarding Evolution’s practices.
Later that year, Evolution commissioned Spectrum Gaming Group, a consultancy, to investigate the claims that it was operating in illegal markets and countries under sanctions.
In its report, Spectrum said it was able to “specifically corroborate” Black Cube’s accusations that Evolution’s games were played in prohibited locations, such as Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
