A group of communities from the Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe has completed the acquisition of Elements Casino Chilliwack from Great Canadian Entertainment. The agreement to sell the popular entertainment facility was announced in November, 2025. The transaction closed Tuesday (July 28) and marks what the parties describe as a transformational milestone for the communities involved.
Chief David Jimmie, president of Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe Management Ltd., said the purchase represents the next stage in the group’s economic growth. “Our communities have built a diverse business portfolio over the years in commercial real estate development, sustainable forestry operations, environmental stewardship and conservation of cultural values, and energy infrastructure,” Jimmie said in a news release.
